![]() Wanting to enjoy the entire story instead of just the beginning 10% 20 times is not cheating. The devs have a delusional belief that loading the game is "cheating". You still get to play the way you want, you still are an asshole just like you want and everybody is happy, except the ones who can't take an insult I guess. If you really want to be a "hardcore hardass", then give people the option of inverted "pussypass" mode to save and load whenever they want. Everyone else will enjoy the game the way they want to. What's the point of forcing punishment on all players? Add ironman mode. The checkpoints that the devs added after what they call players "whining" are also senseless, because they make you waste 10 to 30 minutes instead of hours of your time, and make you confused after loosing the orientation and awareness of where you are in the progress of your play-through. But I find repeating the same thing over and over because one of the devs has some sort of powergaming complex and can't enjoy a game a certain way without being forced to, to be frustrating, stupid and unfair. If the levels were fully randomized and the game beatable in one sitting, that could have been fine. It's a nice thing for a single run ironmode challenge, but as a default setting only serves to waste your time, something many people don't have an excess of. ![]() The only purpose that permadeath serves in this game is wasting your time on re-doing the same thing every time you stumble and happen to die. I understand the premises of permadeath and like it in many games, like dwarf fortress where every defeat is only a beginning of something new.īut it's a stupid idea for Exanima. ![]()
